Thanks to Dave from Dave Tries Ballet for giving us this next question: What is your dream role?
We’d be happy to hear non-dancers ring in here too–just tell us a role you’d like to dance if you were able to…..no harm in dreaming a bit, right?
We’d love to hear what your dream role is….please share your thoughts with us here!

hmmm….. that’s a tough one. maybe nikiya. but i might change my mind later. also i’d love to dance odette, odile not as much tho
It is a tough one!
You can add to it Robin, if you think of more….those are good ones! I’ll be answering this tomorrow on 4dancers! Still thinking about my reply….
Principle Woman in Rubies. Totally genius.
Oooh. Good one. That’s a yummy role!
In another life where I could be a professional dancer, the role I’d definitely aspire to would be Oberon in Ashton’s The Dream! I love the costume, make-up, sets, choreography, music and the way he’s characterized as an immature jerk.
I don’t know if I could handle the heavy drama (or romance) that comes with other male roles!
What an interesting answer! Never really thought about it–but you’re right–there is a LOT of heavy drama/romance in most of the men’s roles. Great point!
If I had the skills I would totally want to dance Kitri, total spitfire, I could seriously channel my latin blood
But Tatiana would be very tempting too!
I love it! Everyone is soooo different! Kitri would be a good one–and you’re right–it takes a skilled dancer. But then again–this post is about the dream, right?!
I know, it’s so cool to see how different opinions people have!
I want to dance Nikya from La Bayadere, and Raymonda!
Nikya – great! Raymonda… well, I guess people have different taste
I’m not a great fan of Raymonda.. But Bayadere, yay!
Thanks for sharing your dream-roles!
